DX Thermal Storage is a simple storage solution for cold storage. It is a simple means of storing and transferring cooling energy on demand. The decision to run vapor compression at other times is by choice.
DX Thermal Storage provides load shifting when added to existing AC or refrigeration plant. DXTS™ technology is about storing and shifting cooling energy for periods of time, usually up to 12 hours. In frozen storage, the DX Thermostorage cells are in the freezer enclosure. The thermocells are charged by the system refrigerant during periods of low demand, cooler periods, usually at night, and it is typically sized to provide the equivalent refrigeration duty by day. Auxiliary charging methods are optional.
